Parts of the City of Dublin and the communities that live in them have been left in poor condition by the policies of governments and politicians over the years.  The recent boom didn't do much to lift these parts of the city, and probably left some of them in worse condition.

I don't think this is something we have to accept.  I am very hopeful that the residents of Dublin can get us out of this recession and build something sustainable, that is fair to all of our citizens.  That is why I am in politics.

I want to campaign to highlight the great things about Dublin, and to try and build on these to create the city that the community here deserve.  Dublin 8, where I live, is where Dublin started, and where we can start rebuilding a better city for it's citizens.

As a scientist, I believe that the correct answers to problems come from facts, established by well designed research, and less from "expert opinion." This means that I think policies should be based on realities and not opinions.

I also think that green politics and the green economy is really the only sustainable way forward.  True democracy lies at the heart of green thinking.  It will only be when we have local people making decisions that affect their own part of the planet that we will see change.
